Overview

OnePhone

OnePhone is a VoIP client running on mobile platforms enabling voice calls over an IP network. Its call quality matches or exceeds that of traditional phones and it provides advanced features.

OnePhone turns mobile devices into extensions of employees' desk phones. OnePhone improves employee productivity while controlling communications costs.

By combining a mobile phone, equipped with wireless LAN capabilities, with Devoteam OnePhone, even mobile VoIP calls become reality. OnePhone goes far beyond making Mobile-Fixed convergence a simple and seamless end user experience.

OnePhone and Convergence.

OnePhone is a truly convergent mobile solution: calls are placed over data networks or, if not available, over traditional cellular networks.

Users can use existing infrastructure such as wireless access points available in the office, thus increasing return-on-investment of already deployed infrastructure and reducing overall telecommunication expenses.

OnePhone embodies fixed-mobile convergence, which enables a mobile phone to seamlessly integrate into the corporate communications. To an enterprise, this provides an excellent means of stepping up on customer service while fully capitalizing on the power of mobility for enhanced employee efficiency.

Regardless of location, users have full access to business class telephony services like conferencing, automatic call backs, call transfer, hunt groups and attendant services.

Why OnePhone?

  • Single solution for mobile and fixed phones allows more flexible control of telecom costs.
  • Discovery of the most suitable access network (WiFi or GSM/GPRS/UMTS) allows seamless Mobile-VoIP call convergence.
  • Cost reduction potential due to intensive use of VoIP communication.
  • Compatibility with existing PBX systems.
  • Flexibility in customization allows TELCOs and ISPs to enable VoIP services based on number prefix.

What is VoIP and why it is important

On the face of it Voice over IP is merely a change in the way voice traffic is carried. Moreover its importance lies in the fact that it changes the economics of telecommunications altogether.

In the traditional telecom world a voice call was set up as an end to end connection between two phones. With VoIP, voice traffic is broken into packets and treated just as another piece of data. Thus it can be routed through data networks, including Internet. This is cheaper because it is both more efficient and avoids the cost associated with interconnecting between operators.

VoIP effectively turns any ISP into a voice operator. VoIP has also driven fixed operators to upgrade their infrastructure and to modernize their networks.
